OAKSTERDAM COLLATERAL
Over the past years as the Graphic Design Coordinator at Oaksterdam University (OU), I have worked on a wide range of projects and materials from textbooks to infographic curriculum assets and animations, brand materials such as course catalogs and terminology style guides, event booth signage and mural design for events like CA State Fair Cannabis Awards, and collaborated with sales and marketing teams to create advertisements and campaigns for magazines like MGRetailer and Cannabis Now, and across digital and social platforms. Below are some of my favorite projects. 2021-2023.
The Budtender's Guide is a comprehensive textbook about budtending and is available for purchase in print and as an e-book on Amazon. Working closely with the authors, contributors, and other stakeholders I designed the layout and art direction for the textbook. Spanning over 200+ pages, I thoughtfully curated the imagery and layout to make the content visually interesting and digestible. This includes typography, imagery, custom graphics, callout boxes with additional content, and active hyperlinks throughout in the digital e-book variant. The final product is a consistent layout easy to read resource, and will likely serve as the industry standard.
Another notable project includes the layout of the course catalogs and the accompanying covers.* The main catalog contains all information reattaining to general information on the school detailed descriptions of available courses. The smaller department catalogs serve as easy reference and sales tools for specific department certifications and classes.
*These documents were designed to be viewed online as an interactive digital PDF, the above images are purely for visual representation. If you would like a PDF please reach out.
The above project was created as visual curriculum aid for the Branding & Marketing. Designed off a hypothetical brand extension the style board and assets provide an example in developing visual cohesion across a company including the brand identity identity, products, and advertising campaigns.
Curriculum asset development has also been a large aspect of my role at Oaksterdam University. Above is one of the more in depth infographics on terpenes that was created to accompany our horticulture and extraction courses. The infographic offers information on each terpene such as flavors, effects, uses, where they can be found in nature as well as assigns each a corresponding color based off of their relevant information that is used throughout the graphic and curriculum. The content was also translated into smaller more digestible chunks and aspect ratios for social media.
